Bratislava is a city rich in monuments, many of which are located in the Old Town. The municipal monument reserve is one of the largest in Slovakia. The dominant feature is the four-towered Bratislava Castle, next to which is the building of the National Council of the Slovak Republic and nearby is St. Martin's Cathedral - one of the largest churches in Slovakia.

An unmissable historical building is the Slovak National Theatre, which is located in the old town on Hviezdoslavovo Square. The square is mainly a pedestrian zone with lots of greenery, in the middle of the square is a longitudinal fountain. Several cultural events take place in the square, as well as Christmas markets.
The combination of the promenade, the shopping center, the waterfront and the theater square is an exceptional urban element. The neighbourhood, which has grown into a modern center of Bratislava, also features the new building of the Slovak National Theater, cladded with white travertine, and the Eurovea shopping center. Here you will find not only fashionable brands but also cafes or restaurants on the pleasant promenade on the Danube riverbank overlooking Bratislava Castle.
Slavín memorial is the landmark of the city. For visitors, the memorial’s main attribute is the panorama with great views across the city. The area around Slavín is also a pleasant place for a walk. It is set in a wealthy district of the city, in which established villas from the Austro-Hungarian and interwar periods. Nearby are the woods of Horský Park.
It is the largest Gothic church in Bratislava. A model of the Hungarian royal crown is placed on top of the tower as a symbol of the coronation church. Up to 18 coronations took place in the temple, including the coronation of Maria Theresa, who was crowned here as the Hungarian monarch.
The St. Elisabeth Church, known among the citizens of Bratislava as the Blue Church, a masterpiece of the Art Nouveau. Its style is palpable on the ever-recurring motifs of nature, flowers, and trees. Its name “Blue Church” points at its uncommon design: its blue-coloured plaster and blue roof. The Blue Church is nowadays one of the most favourite places chosen for a church wedding.
The Old Town Hall is one of the oldest buildings in Bratislava, located right in the center of the city between the Main Square and the Primacy Square. It consists of several buildings, namely Jakub's house, Pawer's house, Unger's house, and Aponi's palace, which were built in different artistic styles. Currently, the building houses the City Museum with an exhibition on the history of Bratislava.
